The bridesmaids had varying figures so they visited a number of shops, trying on many different styles, to identify one that looked good on both of them. The conclusion was that they would go for a fitted bodice with an princess seamed flared skirt. The bride had chosen a dress with prominent
embroidery down the skirt, and shaped sleeve straps. The design that we produced took these sleeves and transferred them straight onto a bodice for one bridesmaid, and added short sleeves to them for the other. Elements of the embroidery from the dress were picked out and stylised, and then embroidered onto the bodices and skirt tops. A layer of chiffon was added to the top of the skirts to add lightness.
